Ad-Aware 2007 Review

This software has come a long way from being one of the earliest adware/spyware detectors and removers. In line with tradition, this software is offered free. There is a paid upgrade available if you like this software. It’s requirements are Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista(32-bit). The company that has produced this software is lavasoft (www.lavasoft.com).

It can scan all parts of your computer. The aim of this software is to maintain your privacy while you surf the internet. In the new version, the application has an updater that is on all the time. This reduces user control over the application giving rise to the question – Is Ad Aware running spyware in the background?

Now lets get to the meat of this product. The Nav Bar has six tabs. These are Status and Scan, the Context Menu, Ad-Watch (for which you need the paid version for real time defenses), Tools and Plugins, Web Update and Settings.

The freeware has some restrictions which are quite irritating. If you want to buy this software you can do so from http://www.lavasoft.com/. If you want to buy the paid version, it will cost you $26.95.  I recommend this software, but caution you that it is not perfect.
